2026 AFSCME Council 93 Endorsements

The AFSCME Council 93 Executive Board has unanimously endorsed U.S. Senator Ed Markey for re-election, Dan Koh for the Massachusetts' 6th Congressional District, and Governor Maura Healey for re-election.
Senator Ed Markey has been a longtime friend of AFSCME Council 93 and steadfast champion for working families, retirees, and organized labor across the country. Most recently, he helped secure the repeal of the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO), restoring full Social Security benefits to millions of public employees and retirees who had been unfairly penalized for decades. His record of standing with AFSCME Council 93 members made our endorsement an easy decision.
The Executive Board has also endorsed Dan Koh for the Massachusetts' 6th Congressional District. Dan has been a longtime ally of AFSCME Council 93, from his work with former Boston Mayor and U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh to his service in the Biden Administration. We look forward to working with Dan on the campaign and in Congress.
The Executive Board also unanimously endorsed Governor Maura Healey for reelection. While we have had disagreements with the Governor over the past four years, she has shown a willingness to listen to our concerns and change course when warranted. She also negotiated the largest salary increases Massachusetts state workers have received in decades. Through two contracts, our Unit 2 and public higher education workers will see their wages increase by more than 21% by the end of Healey’s first term. After meeting with the candidates, the Board concluded that Governor Healey is the clear choice for our members and all working people.
