May Virtual Refresher Training New Employee Orientation (NEO). Orienting new hires into the union is one of the most important pieces of a Local leader’s job.  A strong NEO program keeps your Local strong and unified, brings resources into the Local, helps you recruit new activists and helps ensure that folks are engaged in the Local.  This Refresher will review the basics of NEO and provide some materials that will help you keep your NEO Program strong.

The training is free and open to all AFSCME members in good standing, though it is geared toward folks who have completed the AFSCME Steward training. You must register in advance by May 19th using the following link: Virtual Steward Refresher Class May 2025
