The Vermont office services more than 9,500 AFSCME Council 93 members in 46 Vermont bargaining units. The office also serves 800 employees from 22 bargaining units in New Hampshire. The Vermont office covers a large geographic area from the western border of Vermont to the eastern edges of the Connecticut River Valley in New Hampshire and from Massachusetts to the Canadian border. AFSCME members serviced through the Vermont office work in a wide-range of public and private-sector settings including but not limited to; human services facilities, home care, public works and public safety. AFSCME has been representing public service employees in Vermont since 1953. Most recently, the union secured collective bargaining rights for more than 7,500 home care workers in the state.
